Your English and maths GCSEs must be at least grade 4.

To enrol in the course, students must meet the entry criteria of 5 Grade 4s at GCSE, including English and Maths. For those who do not meet the criteria, we offer a foundation year option as a preparatory pathway to the T-Level program, extending the course duration to 3 years in total.

Our T-Level in Digital Production Design and Development is taught by experienced teachers who bring real-world industry expertise to the classroom. Students will delve into a comprehensive range of subjects, including:

  • Understanding the impact of digital technologies on business and the market environment.
  • Exploring ethical and moral implications of digital technology.
  • Utilising data in software design and problem-solving.
  • Understanding digital environments, including physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
  • Learning legal and regulatory obligations regarding digital technologies, privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Gaining insight into internet security, including technical, physical, and human aspects.
  • Developing skills in planning and testing digital projects.
  • Utilising digital tools for design and production.

Students also have the opportunity to specialise in one of the following areas:

  • analysing a problem to define requirements and acceptance criteria aligned to user needs
  • designing, implementing, and testing software
  • changing, maintaining and supporting software
  • creating solutions in a social and collaborative environment
  • discovering, evaluating, and applying reliable sources of knowledge
  • applying ethical principles and managing risks in line with legal and regulatory requirements when developing software

Industry Placement

Our program includes a 9-week (350 hours) industry placement facilitated by our network of employer partners. This invaluable experience provides students with firsthand exposure to the digital industry, allowing them to apply their skills in a real-world setting.

Through our curriculum, students will develop a range of employability skills essential for success in the digital workforce, including communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and adaptability.
