Applied Science

You will study a wide range of topics from biology, chemistry and physics. You will study topics such as the periodicity and properties of elements, the structure and functions of cells and tissues and waves in communication. You will cover the stages involved and the skills needed in planning a scientific investigation.

There are two examinations (including a practical element) and two units of coursework.

Applied science combines well with all subjects. Alongside BTEC Sport, it is in an excellent route into sports science related careers. The research, analysis and evaluation skills that you develop studying this subject, means it is an excellent choice alongside all subjects.
