Why study this course?

Course Overview

You should choose this course if you have a passion for imagery, you have creative flair and you enjoy a combination of practical and computer based work. If you have an eye for design and like to express your individuality, then this is the course for you

What will I study?

You will study photography from an academic view, responding to the world around you and taking your ideas into visual outcomes. These visual outcomes will be highly skilled and hold meaning to both the producer and the viewer due to the rigorous development and refinement of the visual journey.

How is this course assessed?

You will complete a personal investigation worth 60%. This involves a major in-depth, critical, practical, and theoretical investigative project and outcomes which are based on themes and subject matter that have personal significance. It will also include an extended written element of 1000 words minimum, which may contain images and texts. You will also complete an externally set assessment worth 40%, which involves a preparatory study period and a 15 hour period of sustained focus work.

What can I study with this course?

Photography complements the creative courses of textiles, graphics and fine art well. However, many students often choose to study it alongside the humanities, sciences and even mathematics.
